Our New Addition...

Meli

Since Devin & Cherise are such responsible people we decided it was time to add someone special to our family.....you guessed it....a dog! She is just the love of our lives! We decided to name her a Hawaiian name to keep Derek's roots alive. Her name is Meli (pronounced: Maylee). She was born June 11, 2006 and we took her home August 16, 2006.

We had so much fun when we picked her up. We picked Devin up from Water Polo practice and Cherise from a friends. We told them we were going somewhere special. But that's it. We drove for over a half hour up into the foothills (Coarsegold, CA) to the Breeder's home. Devin said a few times "this better be good". He was tired (which he usually is after a good practice with the team). When we arrived, I emerged from our car, opened a large gate, we drove down the long driveway, (by now Devin & Cherise were really confused), and parked in front of the house. The breeder greeted us and then went into the house. As we stood there it was fun watching their faces. Then the breeder walked out with two puppies. I asked Devin "So do you want a puppy?" He answered with "Are you serious?" They were so shocked it took awhile for them to realize we were serious. They picked Meli for her happy personality. She is just sooo cute and smart! We have our job cut out for us now....training will be "fun".
